John Cullen, owner of Celtic Gardens, has been designing and building feature gardens in the U.S. and internationally since 1990.

He learned plantsmanship at the heels of the late Ernie Stanton of West Croft Gardens, Grosse Ile, Michigan, and while collaborated with such notables as designer Ryan Gainey of Atlanta, and Britain's Andy McIndoe of Hillier Gardens, Seedsman and Nurseryman by Royal Appointment of her Majesty the Queen.

Cullen is a past attendee of Ireland's famed Cornerstone School of Stone Building and Restoration in County Meath, Ireland.

Moira Cullen, John's wife and inspiration, manages and maintains both Celtic Gardens and Celtic Garden Imports. Moira graduated from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, majoring in Theology, Philosophy, and the Classics.

Michael Cullen, a nephew, studied at the Ravenna School of Mosaic, Italy. His travels and studies across Europe and the States provide Celtic Gardens with a true renaissance influence. Michael has worked with John since the early 1990's and manages Celtic Gardens' projects both in the states and internationally.

Charlie Anderberg and Paul Rush, trained under Paul Melton in the fine art of Eastern garden practices. Charlie and Paul are trained in old world stonework. Paul spends his winters in Nicaragua building a place for retreat.

Deirdre (6), Aidan (4), and Katherine (2) Cullen, apprentices in training.

Together with the rest of the Celtic Gardens crew, they have become internationally known for their dedication to detailed design; quality plant and building materials; and superior installation and garden perpetuation.
